TURNING PHOTOS INTO VIDEO – MT SOLEDAD PARALLAX

The key to unique film and photography is the ability to see projects in layers. Mt Soledad Monument provides an ideal location to demonstrate  simple parallax techniques in Adobe After Effects. A time lapse would have been perfect for showing the fog in motion although it takes a fair amount of time to achieve. Even a small UAV can attract attention so the window to grab enough footage at such a popular scenic venue closes relatively quickly. Only a small number of people were aware of the bird in the air yet it was still possible to get the shot and make the trip worthwhile. The overall theme was to produce hyper realistic imagery with surreal effects that match the tranquility of the location.
